KROGER HABITAT FOR HUMANITY SCAN CARDS

are in the racks in both halls.  Just a little effort is all it takes.

Dear Friends:

A crew of about 20 volunteers, including a group of more than a dozen Austin College students, braved off-and-on showers to deck the roof and complete a few of the strong-backs. They did a fine job, and the house is almost ready to be closed in. Also, the water meter is in, and the sewer connection is done. We are right on schedule, thanks to excellent volunteer support and reliable, skilled crew chiefs.

There were also groups of volunteers who manned a Habitat booth at Denison's Main Street festival, selling cookbooks, passing out information, and signing up volunteers. There was enthusiasm despite the showers.

We will need human strong-backs to work this week on laying felt, installing windows and doors and beginning the exterior trim and siding.

Address: 218 E. Hull, Denison

Date: Wednesday, October 10 and Saturday, October 13; 9:00-2:00; sign in at 8:45

Directions: From Highway 75, take Spur 503 north into Denison. It turns into Highway 69 or S. Austin Street. Continue north to Hull Street. Sali's Restaurant and O'Reilly's Auto Parts are landmarks on the right. Turn right (east) onto Hull Street. #218 is on the south (right) side of the street nearly three blocks from S. Austin, almost to Crockett Street

Partner Family: Brian and Julie Kirby

Crew Chiefs: Larry Burge, Gene McElroy, Charles Byler, Bob Montgomery, Greg Thomas, Everett Grantham

Tasks: Wednesday--Lay roofing radiant barrier and finish the strong-backs. Begin windows and exterior doors.

Saturday--Complete doors and windows. Begin trim and siding.

Tools to bring: Work gloves, hand tools if desired

Lunch: Wednesday's lunch will be at Denison SNAP center on Main Street, provided thanks to volunteer Dan Bentley

            Saturday-- unsure; working on it.

Blessings!

Laurie
